«DAY OF INDIA» IN SAINT-PETERSBURG STATE PEDIATRIC MEDICAL ACADEMY

On the 30th of October in Saint-Petersburg State Pediatric Medical Academy (SPbSPMA) festive evening «Day of India in SPbSPMA» was carried out  in friendly and hospitable atmosphere within the framework of celebrating the year of India in Russia. The event was organized by the club “International Friendship and Togetherness” along with the administration of Saint-Petersburg State Pediatric Medical Academy and organization «RACUS». 
In the solemn atmosphere the holiday evening was inaugurated by the Consul of the Consulate General of India in Saint-Petersburg Abhay Kumar. He greeted all the guests of the event and expressed certainty that mutual Russian-Indian holidays will enhance longstanding friendship between Russia and India.
Students of Saint-Petersburg State Pediatric Medical Academy, who came from India to Russia for studies, told the guests about traditions and customs of their country. All those, present at the holiday, could see with their own eyes national Indian dances, many of which were easily recognized thanks to famous Indian movies. Besides, students prepared video sequence, showing the most famous sights and symbols of India.
The members of the club “International Friendship and Togetherness” presented national Indian clothes of different states of India to the guests and cooked traditional dishes of Indian cuisine.
       The holiday «Day of India» attracted attention of correspondents of the popular Saint-Petersburg TV-channel «100TV», who made the video report about the event for the evening news block.
