In terms of geography, economy and culture, the towns lying in the central part of Russia are absolutely unique. To a great extent, this is because of Tambov State Technical University (TSTU), a large center of science, research, education and enlightenment. For many years now, the University has been the leader among dozens of state universities and branches of other Russian higher education establishments located in Tambov. Tambov State Technical University was founded in 1958. In 1965, the University released its first graduates, first-rate engineers. From the very beginning, the University has been training engineers in manufacturing and production, so the course contents and curriculum are as close to practice as it can be. The range of specialities and areas of training is extremely wide. You may apply to a variety of courses to receive Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) and Master’s Degree (2 years), or Specialist’s Qualification (5 years). There are a lot of research centers and experimental institutes, which are involved in development, implementation and application of new technologies. Students enjoy the opportunity to take part in these activities. Meeting various professional challenges right in the course of their studies, they pick up the practical skills that can be acquired nowhere else. The University is accommodated in six buildings with classrooms and laboratories. There is a computerized central library, 5 comfortable hostels, 4 student cafes, a university health center, and several summer camps in the countryside.

As a center of high information technologies, Tambov State Technical University is much involved in the campaign aimed to introduce innovative computer technologies not only at the University itself, but for the overall benefit of the economy, industry, urban management and the administration of Tambov and other regions of Central Russia. The University was twice awarded the Russian Government Prize for the development of IT in the area of education, and for the general contribution in the modern education and science. In the latest years, there are new opportunities for international cooperation in the area of education that are open in the University. For example, Professors from the USA and Canada give lectures on some burning or problematic issues of science and technology; TSTU and universities of Britain and Germany exchange students; international conferences are held in Tambov; the University is running a number of programs in cooperation with universities of Germany, Denmark, China, Switzerland and other countries. There are over 7 thousand students at the University coming from about 30 countris of Asia, Near and Middle East, Africa, Europe and America. All international students are guaranteed to be accommodated in comfortable student hostels, where they share a room with one or two fellow-students. The hostels have a kitchen on each floor, where you can cook the meals you like, an internet cafe, and reading rooms. Students can go to the university gym, fitness center, or swimming-pool. They can play football, volleyball, or badminton to keep fit and spare their free time. To sum it up, there is everything to make your studies and leisure productive, interesting, and useful. Upon successful completion of any Russian state university, the graduate gets higher education degree of Russian national standard indicating speciality and qualification. The graduate also gets EUROPEAN APPENDIX to the degree, which allows to apply for a prestigious job or continue education in 45 European countries signed up to the Bologna convention on the Recognition of Qualifications Concerning Higher Education. 

Upon the initial arrival to the University, the student pays a 50 EURO registration fee for processing registration on the territory of Russia and multiple entry-exit visa in the passport-visa service of Tambov. 
Course duration (academic years): 
4 years – Bachelor’s Degree; 
2 years – Master’s Degree;
5 years – Specialist’s Degree/Degree in Enginering; 
3 years – Postgraduate studies.
During the initial registration procedure the student pays a 200 EURO entrance fee to cover the expenses on making up the official invitation, sending the original letter of invitation and other documents via Express Mail, meeting the student at the international airport in Moscow, transferring him/her to the railway station in Moscow, meeting the student at the Tambov railway station and seeing him/her to the university, drawing up documents for university admission, university registration fee, etc. This sum does not cover the air ticket costs.
Food expenses are 150 EURO per month. On first entering the Russian Federation the student should have about 400 EURO to buy some basic necessities and personal things (clothes, dishes, electrical equipment, etc.).
