Saint-Petersburg State University for Civil Aviation (SPSUCA), whose history dates back to 1909, when first aviators pioneered the sky, prepares specialists for all areas of aviation: pilots, navigators, aircraft maintenance engineers airport and air transportation engineers, airline managers and air transportation financial departments managers, as well as experts in flight security, air transport production management, human resources management, law, public relations and others. There are over 5000 people from more than 30 countries studying in the University at the moment.
The University incorporates 12 faculties and 33 departments whose high teaching standard is proven by the many prestigious awards, including the Order of Lenin, and the international “Birmingham Torch” and “Gold Bar”, which are given to educational institutions for their great achievements. Taking active part in international cooperation in higher and postgraduate education, the University cooperates with 27 foreign centers of education and research.
Modern academic buildings, the research and technology library (over 500 000 books), the aviation history museum (20 000 exhibits), sports centers, student hostels, the university hotel are all situated on the territory of the “air town”, next to the large international airport of Saint-Petersburg. The University is proud of its unique training center for future pilots, navigators and land dispatchers, where they simulate the real work of the air crew, including the emergency and extreme situations, in order to test themselves. Upon successful completion of the University, the graduate gets higher education degree of Russian national standard indicating Degree/qualification and speciality. The graduate also gets additional document “European Appendix”, which allows to get its equivalence in any of 45 European and other countries signed up to the “Bologna Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications Concerning Higher Education” and to further education or apply for a prestigious job in these countries. Candidates for studies in Russian State Universities, who don't speak Russian language, are firstly admitted to the Foundation Course (duration is 1 academic year) to study Russian language and improve the level of knowledge in major special subjects up to the required for further study at the University on the chosen specialty. |Flight Exploitation of Civil Aircraft (Piloting)|
|Practice (actual flying) is paid for extra and the price starts from 400 EURO for one hour of flying; the minimum flying is 150 hours in 4 academic years. The cost of the hour of flying may be changed slightly in accordance with the change of costs for aircraft fuel|

Tuition, accommodation in a student hostel and insurance fees, stipulated in US dollars, are an approximate equivalent of tuition fees in Russian rubles. The actual tuition and accommodation fees may be slightly corrected due to the US dollars /Russian ruble exchange rate correlation on the International Monetary Exchange as on the date of the tuition, accommodation and insurance fees invoice issuance.
The price for legalization of the documents which is required to obtain the 'Certificate of Equivalence', obligatory for all international students, in Rosobrnadzor (Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation) is 6500 Russian rubles (which is equivalent to approximately 100 US dollars). All the activities concerning the preparation of the documentation package required to obtain the equivalence certificate and the equivalence procedure itself are undertaken by the student himself/herself at their own expense.
The above-mentioned fees for tuition, accommodation in student hostel, life and health insurance are valid only for 2016/2017 academic year.
During the initial registration procedure the candidate pays a enrollment fee of 300 USD which covers the charges for the issuance of the invitation letter for studies, sending the original and other documents to the candidate's country of the permanent residence by express mail (DHL), meeting the candidate at the international airport in Moscow/Saint-Petersburg, transfer to the domestic airport/train station in Moscow, meeting at the airport/train station of Saint-Petersburg and accompanying to the University, drawing up documents for admission to University for studies, registration fee, etc. The above mentioned amount doesn't include the cost of the airfare/train ticket Moscow-Saint-Petersburg. Average food expenses in Saint-Petersburg are 300-400 USD per month. When first entering Russia, the candidate should have about 500 USD to buy some basic necessities and personal things (clothes, dishes, electrical equipment, etc.).
